New Composition No. 20125
Date: Aug 15, 2020
Bhagat Ravidas's Tohi Mohi
Two changes compared to other compositions:
1. Using Kafi Ang of Raag Shri
2. Using Rahao for refrain (and meditation on "Ahe Ananta")
Inspiration: Emily Dickinson poem (through Billy Collin's daily poetry reading)
You are me, and I am You—what difference is there between us?
No more than between a gold necklace and the gold, or a wave and the water. ||1||
If I had not committed sin, O Endless One,
how would Your Name be known as the purifier of the fallen? ||1|| Pause ||
You are the Master, dwelling within—the Knower of all hearts;
the devotee is recognized through God, and God is known through the devotee. ||2||
Let this body adore You—grant me discerning insight;
may someone teach Ravidas the even state of equality (equipoise). ||3||
