At Preetam Man Mohana - Jagjit Singh - Lyrics and Meanings

Because the beginning of spring is about love, I recorded this shabad that I used to love to hear -- Jagjit Singh wrote the melody and recorded this about 15 years ago; I have made several changes to it but the backbone melody is the same. This is Guru Arjan Dev's shabad (technically a chhant - a 6 line poem) written in Raag Bihaagra, but Jagjit Singh composed it in a different but similar raag.

As always, the translation on the video is just one set of thoughts from this week - each shabad has multiple deep meanings that are only understood when meditating upon it. So I highly encourage that!

Here are the lyrics in Punjabi, Hindi and English and another translation:

ਰਾਗੁ ਬਿਹਾਗੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
रागु बिहागड़ा महला ५ ॥
